Nuestro grupo está interesado en estudiar los mecanismos celulares y moleculares centrado en variados temas en reproducción humana y animal en el macho y en la hembra. Nuestro interés comprende áreas celulares como uniones intercelulares, citoesqueleto y el compartimiento nuclear. Estas preferencias nos han inmerso también en el estudio de las barras epiteliales de permeabilidad (donde las uniones están involucradas) incluyendo la barrera hematotesticular, barrera epididimaria y barreras inmunologicas, a nivel del tubo digestivo lo que amplía nuestro estudio a la célula de Langerhans, residente de este epitelio. La estructura del núcleo celular nos entusiasmó en el estudio de los poros nucleares y del proceso de apoptosis.
Como herramienta de trabajo utilizamos clásicamente los diversos modos de microscopia optica , electronica de transmisión y barrido, criofractura,. Microscopia confocal y videomicroscopia asociado a la inmunomarcacion. En ultraestructura la crioultramicrotomia asociada a la inmunomarcación ha sido puesta a punto como técnica avanzada.
